BEAT BOX O19 PRESENTS RADU MATEI
Radu Matei este un constantean de 23 de ani care "are urechile" cu el mai tot timpul. Ce inseamna asta? Inseamna ca stie ce este aceea muzica, stie sa construiasca un set OK, am pus alaturi de el in urma cu 2 ani, si credeti-ma ca este cu mult inaintea altor dj. A avut cateva proiecte alaturi de Maresh, Jay Bliss, Raresh si in mod special cu cei de la Stereo Events din Cluj. DJs with bad haircuts aka Sven Launspach. DJs ??? Das ist doch nur einer ?! Sven, das wandelnde Musiklexikon hat einfach mehr als nur einen Stil - er ist "musikschizophren". Er kennt sich nicht nur in der elektronischen Welt, sondern genauso gut im Indie, Scremo, Britpop und Wave aus.
Angefangen hat alles Ende der 80er..im Schulfhof, wo er mit dem Kassettenrecorder Bands wie Depeche Mode, Nitzer Ebb und Front 242 spielte. Die Liebe zur elektronischen Musik hat sich dann als Clubgänger in den 90ern in Clubs wie das Omen, Dorian Gray in Frankfurt oder das Aufschwung Ost in Kassel verstärkt. Mitte 97 veröffentlichte er Künster wie Johannes Heil und Heiko Laux auf seinem Label Aspeak. Dann kam der Umzug nach Köln und als Veranstalter startete er eine Partyreihe die zur einer der grössten Indieparties in Deutschland wurde!
Er spielte als einer der ersten Bands wie Franz Ferdinand oder Bloc Party aber die elektronische Seite sollte wieder mehr herauskommen und er spielte mehr Sets, die Einflüsse aus dem New Rave und Indietronic hatten. Dies sollte nicht alles sein - durch seinen Umzug nach Berlin wurde auch der Anteil an Minimal beim Auflegen erhöht. Seit einiger Zeit ist neben Berlin Bukarest seine 2. Heimat, in der in kleineren Clubs die Indietronic Szene formt. Sein Techhouse/ Minimal Set spielt er eher in den grösseren Clubs und supportet nebenbei noch DJs wie Carl Craig, Gui Buratto und Michael Mayer.
